Historians To Stand For Labour Seats
(New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, April 21. Two Auckland University teachers and the keeper of the City Art Gallery were among Labour Party candidates selected at the week-end to contest Auckland seats at the next General Election.
Professor K Sinclair ag<*d 48, head of the history department at Auckland University, was chosen as candidate for Eden. Or M E. R. Ras'ett. seed 29, a lecturer in the history department at Auckland University. was the successful nominee for the new Waitemata seat keeper of the Auckland City
Art Gallery, was selected for Remuera, and Mr A. D. Bolton, president of the Waiheke branch of the Labour V'r*” anH ? nh'mbine contractor, of Oneroa, was the successful nominee for Tamaki. The president of the Auckland Waterside Workers’ Union (Mr E. Isbey) will contest the Grey Lynn seat for Labour.
