Lowlands, winner of the A.J.C. Oaks at Randwick on Saturday. Lowlands boat Eternal Youth by four lengths, with Sunshine Sue a long head away, third. Lowlands's programme will be the same as Cummings set for Light Fingers, which wen the A.J.C. Oaks In 1985 then wont on to win the Melbourne Cup the next spring. Lowlands. which finished second to Chosen Lady in the Victorian Oaks leaf November, has now wen at three of four starts since a spell. Lowlands time of Smln so 4-Ssec was l-ssoc slower than the race record set by Sandara tn 1937. The dieappotntment of the race was Chosen Lady, which, after being second at the halfmile. started to lose ground approaching the turn and finished seventh, more than 10 lengths from the winner. The Champagne Stakes, the last of the major autumn two-year-old racee. proved another nitfall for punters when the 10-1 ehance, Rajah, scored a narrow win. Rajah, the fifth different winner In the main two-year-old races this autumn, finished too strongly for his itablemate. Flying Fabia, to win by half a length. The 100-1 outsider. Defeat, was three-quarters of a length awBy third.
