Smith Stable Wins 897,950 (N Z. Press Assn. —Copyright) SYDNEY. Horses from the T. J. Smith stable accumulated $97,950 in stakes over the four days of the A..T.C. autumn carnival. Smith won eight races with six horses, including the feature events on two of the three days of the carnival. The previous Saturday, Smith’s horses won three races, including the two feature events, the Doncaster (Unpainted), and the Sires’ Produce Stakes (Black Onyx). At the Monday meeting, he won a double with Unpainted, in the All Aged Stakes, and Temple Court. At Warwick Farm on Wednesday he had his lightest day, when he won only one race, with Diamond Cup. He struck back with a vengeance on the final day last Saturday when he won the glamour race, the Champagne Stakes, with Rajah. Another of his representatives. Flying Fable, finished second. His other winner was Regal Rhythm, which won the Alan Potter Handicap. On the first day. Smiths horses won 158,250. On the second and third days his horses won 99900. On the final day he won 929.800. Unpainted, which was the star of the carnival, was his biggest money earner. From two starts he won the Doncaster and All Aged Stakes and 931,000. Two Riders Suspended (N’.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON. Two Otaki apprentices, K. Rohloff and J. McLeod, were suspended at the Otaki Maori Racing Club's meeting on Saturd«y. Rohloff, the rider of Kelloman in the Pukehou Hack Handicap, was charged with crossing and causing interference to Lady Branksome about a furlong and a half after the start. Rohloff was suspended until 5 p.m. on April 25. McLeod, the rider of Jean Armour in the same race, was charged with crossing Zanda without sufficient clearance about a furlong from the finish, checking her. McLeod was suspended until 5 p.m. on April 24.
