Rider Out One Month
The Riccarton horseman M. J. Skelton was suspended from race-riding until 5 pm on May 18 by the judicial committee of the Canterbury Jockey Club on Saturday. Skelton, who rode Displease in the Harewood Handicap, was charged and found guilty of not riding the horse out at the finish. In imposing a penalty of one month the judicial committee took into consideration the concentration of race dates during the next four weeks.
