Cholera Found In Singapore
(N.Z.P. A.-Reuter—Copyright) SINGAPORE April 20. Singapore has been declared a cholera-infected area after the discovery of the disease in the country. The Health Ministry reported yesterday that a 66-year-old labourer admitted to hospital last Thursday was found to be suffering from a similar strain of “El Tor" cholera to that responsible for the outbreak of the disease in Singapore in 1963. It said appropriate actions had been taken to prevent the spread of cholera but warned the public to take necessary precautions. Reports from Kuala Lumpur today said passengers arriving there from Singapore without valid cholera inoculation certificates were being inoculated on the spot.
