New U.K. Minister
The new British Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food is Mr Cledwyn Hughes, a solicitor aged 51 years, who won the Welsh seat of Anglesey in 1951. Before his present appointment he was
Secretary of State for Wales and earlier Minister of State at the Commonwealth Relations Office. Mr Hughes is deeply interested in the preservation of the language, culture, and separate identity of Wales He is a frequent broadcaster and for six years until 1964 wrote a weekly political column for the Liverpool “Daily Post."
