CALVERT, County Engineer. 3274 CHRISTCHURCH ANZAC DAY THE public are invited to attend the Citizens’ Anzac Day Commemoration Service which will be held in the King Edward Barracks on THURSDAY, APRIL 25, at 11 a.m. MR H. M G. DANIEL (Australian Government Trade Commissioner for the South Island) will deliver the Anzac address. The Anzac Parade will assemble in Worcester Street (near Avon Theatre) at 10.15 a.m., and will march off for the Cenotaph and the Barracks at 10.30 a.m. All returned servicemen and returned servicewomen are invited to participate in the parade. LAYING OF WREATHS The dedication and laying of wreaths will be held at the Cenotaph, Cathedral Square, shortly after 10.30 a.m. The Hon. J. B. Gordon, M.P., will place a wreath on behalf of the New Zealand Government and Mr H. M. G. Daniel (Australian Government Trade Commissioner for the South Island) will represent the Australian Government. FIELD OF REMEMBRANCE At the conclusion of the Dawn Service arranged by the Australian Imperial Forces Association, the ceremony of placing a poppy “in Remembrance” will be held at the Godley Plot.
