Wellington Withdrawn (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON. Administrative difficulties have forced the Wellington Centre to abandon plans to hold the national swimming championships next summer. The Amateur Swimming Association is expected to call for new applications for the championships at its halfyearly meeting in Christchurch on April 27. The Wellington Centre chairman, Mr L. A. Sanderson, said the greatest of the administrative difficulties was the loss of the secretary, Mr R. McLaughlan, and his assistant. In a little over three years the centre had had four secretaries, he said. The rapid turn-over in secretaries of the centre was attributed by officials to the sharp increase in the volume of paper work which has resulted from the change of swimming from purely a summer sport in New Zealand to ■a round-the-year activity.
