AUSTRALIAN PLANE CRASHES.—A P3 Orion submarine-chaser aircraft, manned by a Royal Australian Air Force crew of eight, shown after it crashed and burned while landing at the Moffett Field Naval Air Station at Mountain View, California. Witnesses said the right landing gear collapsed as the plane touched down. The crew escaped minutes before the aircraft burst into flames after skidding 2000ft along the runway.
