CONTRACT TO FORD
The Ford Motor Company has been awarded a $300,000 development contract by the United States Army to apply its fuel-injection stratifiedcharge fuel combustion process to a military utilityvehicle engine. The stratified charge system gives graduated fuel-air ratios in each cylinder, with a rich mxiture at the point of injection, diminishing to a lean mixture at more distant points.
