TWO U.S. WINS
Option In Fine Form Option, which was sent to the United States by Mr C. L. Rhodes, of Christchurch, has shown outstanding form in the last few weeks. He has had several placings, and has won twice at Yonkers Raceway, New York. The first win was in the Adios Spring Festival Consolation, of $15,000, in which he paced the mile in 2min 6 1-5 sec after making most of the pace. Tactile finished fifth that night. A week later Option beat Tactile by three-quarters of a length in a $5OOO race, in which the mile was paced in 2min 4 2-ssec. Two other former New Zealand pacers, Idaho and Van Rebeck, finished fifth and sixth respectively. Option, a five-year-old by Secure from Sally Peterson, has been an outstanding winner in the last 12 months and he is expected to graduate close to the top pacing company. Wise Guy, Highland Don and Le Whip have been other New Zealand-bred winners at Yonkers Raceway.
