Amies Liked N.Z.
(Bu ZAtAA THOMAS) LONDON. Baek in London after his successful 30,000-mile selling and designing tour, Hardy Amies recently held an “at home” at his elegant house in Kensington. New Zealand, and its people, clearly made a profound impression on Mr Amies. He had particularly enjoyed the yachting trips arranged for him. Asked if he would ever consider living in New Zealand he replied: “London is the centre of everything from the design point of view.” But he obviously intends to return to New Zealand from time to time. With the advent of the Concorde, he feels that a long week-end in New Zealand would be an acceptable thing in the early 19705.
