JET BOATS LOADED
Four 17ft jet boats designed for use in the Mekong River development scheme were loaded aboard the Hawea al Lyttelton yesterday for transhipment to the Eastern trader Wainui at Auckland. The Wainui will discharge the craft at Bangkok. The jetboats, manufactured by C. W. F. Hamilton Marine, Ltd, took three months to build. They are being given under the Colombo Plan to the Mekong Committee in Thailand.
They include improvements gained from experience with four standard Hamilton jet boats already used on Die Mekong.
