Wool
Sir,—l am a New Zealand wool merchant, dependent on overseas users of New Zealand wools. Since the Wool Commission’s ill-timed announcement regarding disposal of the stockpile I have been unable to sell one solitary bale. Before it I had found a steady improvement in trade over recent weeks. I would be interested to know how Messrs Greensmith and Acland can reconcile this state of affairs, which I can assure them actually exists today, with their recent suggestion that the wool market would not be materially affected. I will admit that I could sell wool at a substantially lower price than that ruling before the announcement, but this would mean a loss to someone in this country which they can ill afford.—Yours, etc., SCOUREX.
