Obituary MR L. F. B. POORE
Mr Leonard Frederick Beresford Poore, who for many years before the Second World War was a flying instructor with the Canterbury Aero Club, died in Christchurch on Monday. He was 68. Soon after the war began Mr Poore joined the Royal New Zealand Air Force and continued his work as a flying instructor at Taieri. In 1946 he became the Canterbury Aero Club’s chief flying instructor. When he was younger, Mr Poore was a prominent beach motor-cyclist and at one time was a Canterbury champion. He worked for a time as a motor-cycle engineer with Adams, Ltd. He is survived by his wife, two sons and a daughter.
