Clubs to see little of All Blacks

TF W. F. McCormick, A. G. 1 Steel, C. R. Laidlaw, W. D. Cottrell, A. E. Hopkinson and I, A. Kirkpatrick, who toured Britain last year, are chosen for the All Blacks tour of Australia and the tests against France they will will not be seen much in club Rugby in Christchurch. McCormick, who appears to be certain of being the test full-back again may, at the most, play only six games for his club, Linwood. The senior Rugby competition starts on April 27 and McCormick will be able to play two games before taking part in the All Black trials at Wellington on May 4. If he is chosen for the All Blacks he will have one

club match on May 11, before leaving for Australia.

The Australian tour lasts until June 25,' by which time 10 club matches will have been played.

Canterbury usually plays Wellington on the first Saturday in July and then on July 13 the first test is played against France at Christchurch. The second test is on July 27 and the senior competition closes on August 10.

In that time McCormick probably will have played only five or six times for his club. The same may apply to C. R. Laidlaw and A. G. Steel who also must be firm favourites to keep their test places.
