Antonovich in form
The former New Zealand junior shot and discus champion, J. Antunovich, who took up an athletics scholarship at the University of Southern California last September, has been in outstanding form recently. Competing in an all-comers meeting at Long Beach, California, he threw the discus 178 ft 7in to break the university’s freshman record by five feet and a half. This was almost 20ft further than his best performance in New Zealand. Now 19, Antunovich should clear 180 ft before the American season ends in September.
