TROTTING Allakasam’s Wins Place Fallacy At Top Of List

Allakasam’s wins in a qualifying heat and the Easter Cup Final resulted in her sire, Fallacy, topping the list at the New Zealand Metropolitan Trotting Club’s Easter meeting which ended on Saturday.

The only other contributor to Fallacy’s total of $8450 was Doctor Barry, which received $125 for a fourth in the Easter Cup Consolation Race. Allakasam has now had 14 wins for her Methven breedertrainer, C. J. McLaughlin. Her 75 starts have also resulted In 17 placings and she has won $31,210 in stakes. Of this amount 518,900 has been won this season from four sue- ° Garrison Hanover, which Is assured of being leading sire for the season, finished in second place with 57430. The four-year-olds, Fort Nelson and Stewart Hanover, were his best winners, with $2875 and 52625 respectively. Flying Song, the sire of Le Chant and Stylish Major, first and third respectively in- the New Zealand Trotting Championship, finished in third place with $5700, just ahead of Johnny Globe, which had three four-figure winners— Stylos, Inky Boy and Proudly. Stakes and trophies distributed at the meeting amounted to $62,800. These were shared by the progeny of 41 stallions, of which 15 were imported from the United States. Of these only four are still available to breeders in New Zealand. They are Garrison Hanover, Thurber Frost, Goodland and Nephew HaL The declining influence of Light Brigade, which has a small crop of three-year-olds as his youngest progeny, and U Scott, which has a few five-year-olds, is shown by the fact that Light Brigade is in fifth position on the list, with U Scott three places further down.
