Naming Of Unpainted
(N.I Press Assn.—Copyright, SYDNEY. Mr C. Taylor, an Auckland shoe manufacturer, explained how his ehampion mare, Unpainted, get her name. '■My daughter was getting married In IMS and my wife wanted me to get tbe houee painted." said Mr Taylor. “But when I went to the yearling sales at Wellington that year I was SO taken with the Ally by The Cobbler, out of Dogma that I just had to buy her. “My wife wasn’t exactly happy and said that was the end of getting the house painted and I had better make the Job complete and call the filly unpointed.” Mr Taylor added, "but things turned out nleely. I've still get Unpainted and the bouse has been painted.” D. R. Tucker Thrown (H.l Press Association) RIVERTON. D. R. Tucker was thrown at Riverton yesterday while riding Redoca in her preliminary for the President’s Handicap. Tucker strained his thigh muscles and was stood down for the remainder of the programme by the club’s doctor. M. J. Woods replaced Tucker on Redoca.
