Cast Chosen For Elmwood Entry
Casting has been completed for the Elniwood Players entry in the national festiva' of full-length plays, "The Ballad of the Sad Cafe," adapted by Edward Albee. The main parts will be played by: Ivan Finlayson Basil Sullivan, Bill Hayward John Bateman, David Wil Hams, David Good, Chris Howell, Pat Burke, Jenny Papprill, Beryl McLeod an< Ruth Winstanley. The producer is Huntei Bell. The play will run from May 18 to 25 in the Elmwooc Playhouse. The contest, which has attracted 37 entries, is beingjudged by Bruce Mason. The Ashburton Repertory
Society presented its entry, John Van Druten’s “I itemember Momma,” produced by Alex Henderson, earlier this month. The Rangiora Dramatic Society will present its entry, Richard Beynon’s “The Shifting Heart,” on May 20. i'he producer is Cynthia Ward.
The Risingholme Community Centre Drama Group’s entry, Pirandello’s “Right You Are (If You Think So),” Produced by Yvette Bromley, ivill run from May 18 to 21. Dunedin’s Globe Theatre is having a Shakespeare season this month, with “Twelfth Night” starting this week and “Winter’s Tale,” next week.
