DAMAGE CLAIMS
(N Z~ Press Association) WELLINGTON, April 15. More than 650 claims from the Wellington area have been received and about 200 letters in this morning’s mail still have to be checked, an official of the Earthquake and War Damage Commission said today. He said the worst-hit areas in New Zealand during last week’s tropical storm included Wellington, Bay of Plenty, Wanganui, Gisborne, Wairarapa, Greymouth. Granity, and Christchurch. The Southland floods would bring further claims. Claims against the commission should be made in writing within 30 days of the damage.
