DARTS TO N.Z. PAIR
Interstate Contest (N.Z. Press Association> NEW PLYMOUTH. The New Zealand pair, J. George and A. Maginley, won their second successive Australian and New Zealand R.S.A. inter-state darts pairs championship when the tournament continued in New Plymouth yesterday. The pair came through the two lives of the championship with only one loss. In the first life semi-final against A. Matcham and L. Young (New South Wales), Maginley scored 120, the highest finishing score of the tournament. Results: Pairs. —Semi-final, first life: J. George and A. Maginley (New Zealand) beat A. Matcham and L. Young (New South Wales). Second life: E. Wilkinson and A. Burton (New South Wales) beat George and Maginley. Final: George and Maginley beat Burton and Wilkinson. Singles.—First life, semi-final: George beat W. J. Murphy (New Zealand). Second life: D Dyer (New Zealand) beat E. Wilkinson (New South Wales). Final: Dyer beat George. Test: Australia 10, New Zealand 5. Over-all State winner: New South Wales No. 1.
Yacht Trophy.— D. Elder and R. May. of Christchurch, won the W. P. Begg Memorial Trophy after a three-race series conducted by the Tlmaru Yacht Club at the week-end.
