One Rugby Match
Because City Council grounds were not in use, only one senior Rugby friendly match was played in Christchurch on Saturday. High School Old Boys beat Timaru Old Boys, 21-6, in the annual Easter match played at Rugby Park on Saturday. T. Mehrtens (2), R. Grenfell, P. Hatchell and E. March scored tries for Christchurch, and M. J. Millar (2) and L. B. Legge kicked conversions. T. N. Lister scored a try for Timaru and I. Taylor kicked a penalty. At Timaru, Christchurch beat Zingari, 11-5. For Christchurch, G. Walkinshaw, K. Connell and I. Rutledge scored tries and G. Waterreus kicked a conversion. D. Brown kicked a goal for Zingari.
At Temuka. University showed good early season form to beat Temuka. 46-8. Tries were scored by J. Redward (2). A. Boyle (3). M. Papps, H. Joseph. G. Sinclair and L. North. D. Pappa kicked a penalty and eight conversions.
