18 Dead In Air Crash

All 18 people aboard a DC3 making a new airline’s inaugural flight were killed when it crashed into a stormlashed mountain near Jiquipilco last night. The burnt-out wreckage of the Aerovias Rojas plane, lost on a flight from the northern town of Aguascalientes to Mexico City, was found this morning on the peak of 12,000 ft-high Mount Transfiguracion, 38 miles northwest of the capital. The 14 passengers killed included the DirectorsGeneral of the Civil Aeronautics Board and the National Telegraphic Service, and the manager of Aerovias Rojas. Mexico’s newest domestic airline, and his wife.
