“The Press" Special Service AUCKLAND. Highland Rebel, from Te Aroha, and Bostock, a Pukekohe gelding, seem a likely combination for the T.A.B. double at Rotorua today. Highland Rebel is a promising young stayer which will make his debut in open company in the first leg, the President’s Handicap. Bostock will be trying for bis third successive win when he runs in the Electric Handicap. Highland Rebel, a lightly raced four-year-old, won narrowly, but impressively over a mile and a quarter at Ellerslie four starts back. Since then he has gained two seconds and a fifth in mile races, on each occasion finishing strongly. Where Bostock will have the edge on many of his opponents is in his ability to run in front He is also thoroughly seasoned. At hrs last start, at Whangarei on March 30, he dead-heated with Sureve over six furlongs after setting a strong early pace. The day before he outclassed Sureve and seven others over the same distance. The going will be easy.
