Winner For All Blacks
“The Press” Special Service AUCKLAND. Several former New Zealand representative sportsmen of yesterday were successful in another sphere on Saturday—as the owners of winners at Alexandra Park.
Messrs M. M. N. Corner and A. Knight, both former All Blacks, won with their three-year-old filly, Bella’s Fallacy, tn the first race, the March Mobile Stakes.
Mr R. A. Jackson, a New Zealand professional match-play golf champion in 1951, saw his trotter, Inferno, win the last event, the Members' Handicap. Mr Corner, who is the vicepresident of the Auckland Trotting Club, represented New Zealand at Rugby in 1930, 1931, 1932, 1934, and 1935. Mr Knight was an All Black in 1926. 1928. and 1934. They race Bella's Fallacy in partnership with Mr Corner’s brother-in-law, Mr J. Smith.
Inferno has proved a fine proposition for Mr Jackson, who bought him about 18 months ago for 3400. He has had 18 starts for six firsts and four placlngs and 35230 in atakes.
