TRIP TO MEXICO
An Ashburton girl. Miss Susan Dellow, and Miss Margaret Wall, of Wellington, have been selected by the New Zealand Girl Guides Association to attend a special international gathering which coincides with the Olympic Games in Mexico.
Tickets have been promised for the Olympic opening ceremony and for other events, by the committee organising the gathering. Girls from all over New Zealand met at the national i headquarters of the Girl ■Guides Association in Christchurch on March 9 to select [delegates to the gathering. ' To win this trip the girls had to have had camping experience and have been a member of at least one recognised sports group. They each submitted articles on the origin, aims and purpose of the Olvmpic Games and or sport in New Zealand and gave impromptu speeches or. various subjects.
