PRESENTATION TO LADY MACDONALD
Lady Macdonald, who will return to New Zealand at the end of March when her husband retires as High Commissioner for New Zealand in London, was presented with a leather writing case at a luncheon given in her honour by the New Zealand Women’s Association.
Making the presentation, ' Mrs D. Lawday, the president, ■conveyed the association's ! "affection, gratitude ,and regard.” 1 Lady Macdonald expressed her thanks for the association’s kindness and generosity to herself and her husband during their seven years in London. They would retain many memories when they i returned to New Zealand for they had shared both grave land gay times, she said. ' She congratulated the assoi ciation's committee, noting That membership had in-
creased from the original 60 to 230, and spoke of its visits to those in hospital or in need of help, and members’ willingness to act as collectors for a number of charities. The staff of New Zealand House had also contributed to making their stay in London very pleasant, she said. Guests at the luncheon in-
