OVERSEAS TRADING
SYDNEY Gold stocks led a slight downward trend as investors awaited Mr Jenkins’s budget. After a 50c rise on Monday Emperor lost 50c to close at 190 c. Central Norseman also lost ground with the shares taking off 25c to 455 c. Lake View shed 20c to 450 c. Peko Wallsend lost 100 c to 940 c. B.H.P. gained 25c to 1745 c. Outside Bank of N.S.W. which rose 14c to 622 c, bank stocks were a shade easier.

MELBOURNE Trading was again cautious, awaiting the British budget. Many leading industrials opened on a higher level but drifted lower later. 8.H.P., after a day's high of 1765, finished 35 higher at 1745. Overall falls well exceeded rises. Electronic Industries featured with a.jump of 30 to 120 on buyers quote in response to a “don't sell" advice.
