Governor As Patron
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON. The Governor-General, Sir Arthur Porritt, last evening was elected patron of the New Zealand Olympic and British Commonwealth Games Association. His nomination was the only one received for the post. The only ballot for officers came when six nominations were made for the five vicepresidents. The sitting members were all returned, the newcomer, Mr H. R. Dutton (Amateur Cycling Association) being defeated. Officers elected were:—
Patron, Sir Arthur Porritt: vice-patrons, Mr K. J. Holyoake, Sir Richard Wild; president. Mr H. I. Austad; vice-presidents. Sir William Stevenson and Messrs C. I. S. Cross. P. N. Robinson, R. Shakespeare, and J. I. Squire; chairman of the executive, Mr Cross.
