SAIGON, March 19
The huge anti-American demonstration in London last Sunday was part of a worldwide political offensive, the South Vietnamese Foreign Minister, Dr Tran Van Do, said here today. The offensive had been mounted by international communism against American involvement in Vietnam, the Foreign Minister said. It had already included demonstrations in Paris, Brussels, West Germany and other nations.
“Sunday’s demonstration outside the American Embassy in London was part of this co-ordinated strategy of world communism," Dr Do told N.Z.P.A.-Reuter. “It is part of an- international political offensive.” The American Military Command announced that today was a North Vietnamese holiday, a “Hate America” day called the “union day of struggle against the United States.” “There are no indications of any specially-planned enemy activity to commemorate this holiday,” the announcement said.
A Government military spokesman said that Viet Cong terrorists assassinated two civilians in Cholon, the Chinese suburb of Saigon, late last night.
