APPEALS TO CONFERENCE

(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON. The New Zealand Racing Conference appeal judges will hear two appeals against district committee decisions in Wellington this month. On March 21, Messrs R. J. Crosby and R. D. Ward, the owners of Lady Simon, will appeal against a decision of the Auckland District Committee. The Auckland body upheld a decision of the Franklin Racing Club’s judicial committee, which fined the owners $4O on January 20 under the rule governing shoes which are not permitted. The next day Mr D. W. Wild, the owner of Seminole, will appeal against a decision of the Canterbury District Committee in upholding the South Canterbury Jockey Club’s judicial decision to dismiss a charge of interference to Seminole in the Timaru Cup on December 27. Seminole finished fourth and El Beka third. The appeal will be to have Seminole placed ahead of El Beka on the grounds of alleged interference.
