Taranaki Cup To Tuskar Rock

Tuskar Rock avenged his first day photofinish defeat to win the Taranaki Cup, first leg of the T.A.B. double on the second day of the Taranaki Jockey Club’s autumn meeting yesterday.
Tuskar Rock handled the heavy going confidently all the way. He and Cabriere made the turn together clear of Whakamoa and the favourite, Mali Peter, but Tuskar Rock was soon in front and held on solidly to beat Cabriere by threequarters of a length. Whakamoa was four lengths and a half away third in front of Town Guard. The second leg, the Provincial Handicap, was won by Bostock. The double returned $14.10 for $l.
The on-course double, Sennoma, in the Okoke Highweight, and Pep, in the Paritutu Juvenile, returned $lOB.BO for $l. Sennoma and Gather, in the concession double, returned $153.85 for $l.
