CHATHAMS CONVOY

Five of a convoy of six trawlers that have been crayfishing in the Chathams arrived at Lyttelton yesterday morning for routine maintenance and overhaul. They are the Picton, Miss Southland, Nimbus, Kingfisher, and Venture.

A sixth trawler, the Craig Isle, left the convoy off Le Bons Bay early yesterday morning and proceeded to Timaru.

According to the convoy leader. Captain A. S. Aberdein, master of the Picton, the voyage was uneventful and the harvest good. The Picton, formerly a wellknown coastal vessel, lost her port propeller while crayfishing in the Chathams and although under her own power with her starboard propeller, was under light tow by the Kingfisher for the return voyage.

Captain Aberdein said yesterday that the Picton would be returning to the Chathams after overhaul, possibly in about two months, as would most of the convoy.
