ROBERTSON HAS POST

(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) SYDNEY, March 13.

The former commander of the aircraft carrier Melbourne, Captain R. J, Robertson, will take up a position next month with the woolbroking firm of Dalgety and New Zealand Loan Company Ltd.

A spokesman for the company said in Sydney today that Captain Robertson would become its Australian staff manager early next month after his return from holiday in New Zealand. A second Royal Commission recently absolved Captain Robertson from any blame for the collision involving the Royal Australian Navy’s ships Melbourne and Voyager in February, 1964, when 82 men lost their lives.

The Federal Cabinet yesterday decided that Captain Robertson should be compensated by the award of $60,000 for the loss incurred since his resignation from the Navy.
