CHAMPION WINNER

(Special Crspdt. N.Z.P.A ) LONDON, March 12. A Gloucester housewife, Mrs Olive Samways, has been declared Britain’s champion prize winner. The reason? In 12 months she won 44 of 100 competitions she entered. Her prizes Include two television sets, three electric fires, three refrigerators, four food mixers, two fan-heaters, an electric floor polisher and many cash awards. “I just enter competitions for the fun of it,” she said yesterday. ‘Tve won so many prizes that at times I don’t even know which competition they were for until I’m officially notified.” Some of her latest wins will bring her a pound’s worth of groceries each week for a year, a £250 cruise, a pearl necklace, and a £25 gift hamper.

Mrs Samways Is a member of the London Competitors’ Club, which has awarded her a shield as “champion prize winner of Great Britain.’”
