Fire Under Control
(N.Z. Press Association) GISBORNE, Feb. 7. Fire-fighters are expected to mop up tomorrow a fire which has been burning for three days in the Wharekopae State forest, 24 miles from Gisborne. The fire has burnt between 300 and 400 acres of forest. The district forest ranger (Mr D. E. McQueen) said the situation had improved this morning. A light south-west-erly wind had allowed fire fighters to move behind the fire front.
