CONCERTO JUDGES
The judges of the finals of the Christchurch Civic Music Council’s nation-wide concerto contest for young musicians, to be held in Christchurch on Friday and Saturday, will be Arthur Fiedler and Professor P. Platt. Arthur Fiedler, the conductor of the Boston Pops Orchestra, is in Christchurch to conduct the N.Z.B.C. Symphony Orchestra for the 1968 Proms season while Professor Platt is professor of music at the University of Otago. Dobbs Franks, conductor of the Christchurch Civic Orchestra, which will accompany the six finalists, will act as a consultant judge. Professor Platt was omitted from the list of judges in “The Press” yesterday. The error is regretted.
