Christchurch Customs
The total revenue of the Christchurch Customs Department increased by 0.6 per cent to $19,895,697 in the 10 months to January 31, compared with the corresponding period the year before.
Income from sales tax, at $5,998,590, was $436,572—0r 6.8 per cent—lower, and light dues fell from $36,368 to $25,169. Increases came from customs and excise duties, $567,494 higher at $13,845,970 and a rise in miscellaneous receipts, $2,494 to $25,968.
