Buckles, Bows
Shoes for the British spring and summer are now going into shops and stores throughout Britain. Chunky styles with round or square toes predominate. Heels remain thick and firm—mainly of low-to-medium height—but there is a tendency towards higher, slimmer heels in the more dressy styles. Black patent is still a firm favourite and the
bright colours of last season have given way to more subtle tones. Big rosettes of selfmaterial with ribbon edges, or rosettes of satin, decorate many of the' shoes. Buckles and bows are also widely used.
