Price Of Wheat

Sir,—May I ask for the basic 1969 South Island wheat prices to be clarified? Of the $1.35 per bushel 10c is to be withheld by the Wheat Board tn the event of a surplus, which may be sold at a loss. In the event of a profit what? Please give examples of 1969 prices to growers less 10c to be shown as against 1968 prices.—Yours, etc., INTERESTED. January 29, 1968. [The general manager of the New Zealand Wheat Board (Mr L. C. Dunshea) replies: “(1) It cannot be taken for granted that the Wheat Board will withhold 10c a bushel in 1969. The Hon. L. R. Adams-Schneider said the amount would be *up to 10c.* (2) The Wheat Board sells ' wheat in New Zealand at cost, 1 sb the question of a profit | does not arise. Nor does it 1 seem possible that surplus ' wheat could find a sale overI seas at a profit”]
