Fall Before Race
F. H. Skelton was dazed in a fall from Kiowa before the Trial Stakes at Riccarton yesterday, and was unable to ride in the race. Skelton was replaced by B. P. Kennedy, who had a worrying moment soon after the start of the race. Kiowa dashed forward, got on the heels of another runner and almost came down near the five furlongs. “His head came up just in time to ge me lnto the saddle,’* Kennedy said later. Skelton was able to ride later in the day.
