(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright I PALM SPRINGS (California). A. Palmer won the SUSIOO,OOO Bob Hope desert golf classic when he beat D. Beman on the second hole of a “sudden-death” play-off. H. Henning (South Africa) was third with 349—0n1y one stroke behind Palmer and Beman after 90 holes.

At the fifteenth hole, where the play-off began, the two leaders shared a par four, but on the next hole Palmer’s second shot could not be matched by Beman. W. Caspar and R.
