EASY ACCESS IN BUILDING
One of the greatest assets of the new building is that all facilities are on the one floor, there is easy access to the various departments and there is a car park of about 5000 sq. ft adjacent to the building. “We have allowed room for future expansion, although this is not planned at the moment,” said Mr A. T. F. Stokes, manager of the Christchurch branch.
Included in the building is a 10,000 sq. ft storeroom with access from two loading bays. “Everything has been so arranged in the storeroom to allow for a minimum of time in loading and unloading. Most goods are stacked on pallets and are able to be shifted with ease,” Mr Stokes said. The 1000 ft sq. showroom contains most of the goods sold by the company and is spaciously arranged. There is also considerable office space for the firm’s staff. At the rear of the building is the spice and icing sugar plant; the firm grinds its own sugar to Icing sugar and sells It in bulk amounts. There is also a workshop in the building to service the machinery sold by the company.
