Moore To Ride In Test

The former multiple world speedway champion, R. Moore, of Christchurch, is to race for New Zealand in the fifth and final test against England on his home track, Templeton, after all. Moore, one of the few riders who could possibly match the touring English motorcyclists, was located yesterday with his wall-of-death sideshow about 20 miles north of Auckland. He was riot available for the test, originally scheduled for Saturday, but when this was transferred to this evening because of rain the presi-

dent of the Christchurch Speedway Association (Mr R. Lang) decided to make a fresh approach. This was successful and Moore will fly down today in time for the first international event at Templeton this evening. It is not yet known who will be dropped from the original New Zealand team of six but at present it seems likely to be the Christchurch rider, R. Wright. A decision will not be made until this evening by the team captain, R. Andrews, of Auckland. The New Zealand team, with one to be dropped, is: Andrews (captain), F. Timmo (Napier), B. Subritsky (Auckland), F. Shuter (Christchurch), M. Neil (Auckland), Moore, and Wright (Christ- •

church). A. Brown (Christchurch) is the reserve. The six-man English team was scheduled to fly home to London today but in order not to disappoint its followers it rearranged all its bookings. “It seemed only the right thing to do,” the team mana-ger-rider, K. McKinlay, said. Only one member of the team, E. Boocock, was unable to stay behind with the team. This has let H. Cole, the former resident Templeton rider, into the full side. He was originally named as reserve and was not a member of the original touring party. The English team will now be: K. McKinlay, N. Boocock, E. Boocock, C. Pratt, T. Betts, R. Trigg, H. Cole. A reserve will probably be provided by I New Zealand.
