Decision On S.A. On February 15

(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) GRENOBLE. The International Olympic Committee yesterday distributed a resolution upon which members will vote to decide whether South Africa will be allowed into the Olympic Games in Mexico in October.

The results of a vote by mail on the resolution will be announced bn February 15. The resolution says the 1.0. C. notes with concern that racially discriminatory internal policy of the South African Government prevents the national Olympic committee of that country from achieving fully the aims of the 1.0. C. and fundamental prin* dple of the Olympic code. "It is, however, encouraged that positive efforts by the South African national Olympic committee have resulted in a firm undertaking to implement the proposal an-

nounced at the 1.0. C. session at Teheran in May, 1967, whereby a multi-racial team will be selected on merit.” The resolution calls for South Africa being allowed to enter a team for Mexico and for reconsideration of the question by the end of 1970. Lord Killanin, chairman of the 1.0. C. press committee, said the commission, which published a report on South African sport, answered questions at Saturday’s meetings, but he emphasised the resolution itself had not been discussed.
