U.K. Lottery Proposal.—A national lottery with £lm a week in prize money will be considered soon by the British Chancellor of the Exchequer (Mr Roy Jenkins). After a House of Commons debate on Friday, members of Parliament gave their approval in principle to a State lottery by 69 votes to 17. Mr Jenkins is expected to make an announcement in the Budget on March 19.—London, February 4.
