Canterbury Riders Win Two Events

GORE. Canterbury competitors had two successes at the New Zealand Horse Society Show at Gore in the week-end. On the first day, Blue, ridden by Miss J. Cresswell, won the “take-your-own-line" event from a held of 50 competitors in the Improvers’ class.
Te Kuiti. owned and ridden by A Ward-Smith, headed off 48 other competitors in the improvers* table A contest on the second day
The A grade, table A, event was the closest of the show when Town Boy (C. Clarke, Te Awamutu) won by only 3/ssec from Lucky Steve (Miss P. Piki). Town Boy and Lucky Charm (T. Dixon, Gore) shared the Equizole Points Prize for the show and Southland won the team contest.
The events were held in strong southerly conditions and the turf was slippery at times. Results:—
