Keravat Has Sound Chance At Blenheim

Keravat, a good second to Waratah at the Canterbury Park meeting on January 24, should gain a well-earned win in the Otaki Handicap on the first day of the Marlborough Trotting Club’s annual meeting at Water lea today. This will be the first race of the on-course concession double, and Keravat will probably dominate the betting.

Caretaker and Double Scot have both shown promise in the little racing they have done and they should offer the strongest opposition to Keravat. Aroma, Lady Scamp, Sherwood Ann, and Solinos are expected to race prominently. Cadane, a stablemate of Keravat, will be an equally strong favourite for the second leg of this double, the Hillersden Handicap. Two recent impressive winners, Officer Kelly and Tiny Sal, should race prominently, as should Flying King, Dark Bose, Hagan and Marksman. The T.A.B. double will be run on the Marlborough Cup and the President’s Handicap. Fair weather is forecast and the track will be fast. FIRST LEG OF ON-COURSE DOUBLE
