Strong Wellington Water Polo Side

Wellington will field a very strong team In this morning’s representative water polo match against Canterbury at the Centennial Pool. It will be led by three New Zealand representatives, G. Martlew, P. Perklnson and W. Howes. Perkinson in particular has been playing excellent Water polo in Wellintgon this season and is one of the fittest in the team in spite of a suspension which prevented him playing Canterbury in the first leg of the Norden Trophy before Christmas. In that match, Wellington won 64, and the Canterbury team will need to use all its youth and speed in order to make up the two-goal deficit today. A notable inclusion in the

Wellington team is the former Canterbury representative, W. Dunn, and he, along with a University of Canterbury student, K. B. Thornton, should have an interesting match against their former team-mates. Another interesting duel will be that between the two goalkeepers, I. S. Farquhar (Canterbury), and M. McKinley. Both are in the running for the New Zealand team to be selected at the national championships in March. The teams are:— Canterbury: P. K. Hatchwell. M. J. Hay, T. M. McGirr, I. L. Gunthorp. B. M.
